F O Engineering designed and produces the Electronic Controller and Carburetor for a system that is used to clean up Gas and Oil spills that have soaked into the earth. The customer uses the vacuum of a large industrial engine to volatilize and extract the fuel from the ground. Our control system orchestrates the process optimizing the flow from the ground while maintaining EPA emission standards for the combustion. When the system is first installed at a typical site, the engine runs completely off of fuel from the ground. Our product runs many other elements of their complex system and allows remote monitoring, data collection, and control of the site from application software at your office.
The design of this system required our expertise in the following critical areas:
- Complex system design

- Application software written in Visual Basic
- Analog, Digital, and Data Acquisition circuit design
- A thorough understanding of control theory and reciprocating engines
